We came by ship, actually. Viper's ship. Not the same one we took to reach the northern island a few months ago, but it was similar... at any rate, we traveled across the sea for... I think it was about a week, maybe. From Zarypesh to Copalli, using a map I'd purchased at one of the markets there. We did walk a long way after we arrived, though, from the port city to another one further inland.

[ She makes an odd face at the mention of "north of here," but then seems to realize: ]

Oh—you mean the country north of this one? I'm not sure I remember the name of it, but I know the Templestones strait is someplace to the north...west, I think... that leads to Winternacht, which I've only ever heard of before. And if we'd kept going south, Viper said we'd be close to her homeland. We never did get a chance to head north, though, for... obvious reasons.
