MARCH 2022 - 2/2

THEY'LL BE COMIN' DOWN THE MOUNTAIN
POSTING LOCATION: Coatepec
DESCRIPTION: Ah, yes. The mountain wyverns. Per the bestiary: "Very rarely seen except sometimes during windstorms, they make their homes high up in the mountains and are notoriously vicious, especially during breeding season in the winter." Well, guess what's just coming to a close this month. The wyverns are out in full force, no longer holed up in their high-up caves but having begun to nest and search for food, and Coatepec is the prime place for that. Known for its sturdy walls and minimal monster issues, Coatepec has excellent defenses against most outside threats and is known for being a very peaceful place to live... but the one thing they truly have no protection against are enormous airborne dragons that can swiftly dive in and snatch a full grown man right off the street and fly off with him. The coterie is entirely unprepared for a single one, let alone droves, and so an urgent call his been put out to the other cities to send help right away.
REWARD: Monetary compensation varies, but upward of 500 per wyvern, however most importantly are the resources you can gain from defeating one. Their meat is considered a delicacy and is highly sought-after, as are their scales and beaks. High-value hunters often have the heads or even the entire thing stuffed as trophies, so if that's your thing, it'll garner you a lot of respect.
REPORT TO: Salamander

ELEMENTAL AFFINITIES
POSTING LOCATION: Coatepec
DESCRIPTION: Personally requested by Salamander herself, this posting calls for any magical-minded or elementally-attuned outlanders to join her in a trip to the Crystal Gardens, where they will be retrieving select crystals and attempting to imbue them with elemental energy. While her methods are only in theory, as she herself can scarcely conjure a single spell these days, she's able to explain that the crystals in Coatepec are attuned to the mana of this world and would make excellent dowsing pendants if imbued with the right sort of properties. More specifically, infusing them with elemental energy should make them extremely useful in locating strong fonts of energy elsewhere—such as what the four relics are believed to give off. It's only a theory, but worth a shot. And hey, if it doesn't work, it's an opportunity for mages to show off what they can do, experiment with their elemental energies, and socialize (which is something magic-users seem to have a reputation for not doing often). Unfortunately, this invitation is only open to those who can wield or harness the elements in some form or another, and dowsing pendants won't be offered to non-magic users (although they can be given to someone else after the fact, if characters so choose).
REWARD: None, although anyone who participates will of course be able to keep their crystal pendant, infused with whichever element they have it imbued with (either done by another character and traded with each other, or done themselves). NOTE: This may potentially tie into future plots, so don't break or lose your dowser!
REPORT TO: Salamander. OOCly, direct interaction with Salamander can be handwaved or written on the coterie interact page if you choose, but is more of an opportunity for magic-users to interact ICly.
