First: For the first few deaths, the Knight would die a regular death and respawn, whole, at their origin point or wherever they died like everyone else. At this point in the game, "penalties" for multiple deaths haven't been introduced, but after maybe four or five times, having to return and fight a shade in order to fully recover is absolutely doable! We may even offer some Incensed-flavored tweaks to add to that then, if you're interested, so if that does happen you could definitely PM us to play around with it a bit.
Second: Definitely not rude at all! You can ask the questions here or, if you'd rather, you can PM the mod journal. As a general rule we're not picky about powers and inventory so long as they don't break the game and setting entirely forever, but yes absolutely hash out anything you're not sure with us and we'll let you know.
Third: Very good question... they'll still receive a medallion that will translate everyone else for them, but since the Knight can't speak, they won't be able to use it for voice purposes themselves (so no one will be able to voice PM them, basically, but they'll still be able to hear others through it). As far as signing a name into the journal cover to activate it, they can make one up, use a symbol—whatever they decide their "signature" is, that'll work.
