With how big the armor is (even in pieces), we'd prefer to err on the side of caution and for the time being say that he'll be able to regain the helmet at the very least. With the rest of it, the dragon may wind up getting a little confused and backfire into something akin to a 1/10 scale model made out of tin or wood minus a head!
