BESTIARY
✶ ✶ ✶
Below is a list of monsters, broken down by rarity. If you would like to submit a new monster to the bestiary, please use the form below in a comment to this post. In general, we will accept monsters from any canon, whether they are one you currently play from or another, so long as they fit the setting or can be worked in feasibly through in-game lore. Further guidelines are detailed on the form; make sure to delete them when you submit. Please also copy the information to the textarea box at the bottom so it can be easily added to the page.
COMMON MONSTERS
BANSHEE ✶ x
Location: Around cities
Materials/Drops: Some Salamanders may be willing to examine the putrid flesh/bones
Not content to disturb only the living creatures on Copalli, the incense has even managed to affect some of the dead. Very few of these rattling, rotten animated remains are the remnants of recent deaths, however, and thus don't resemble anyone from the coteries or even local natives at all. These lost souls are from well before the incense ever came along, and its advent has disturbed their rest. Slow and feeble, they are more disturbing than they are dangerous largely in part because of their haunting scream. Locals believe their wails are bad omens.
CACTUAR ✶ x, x, x
Location: Across Copalli
Materials/Drops: Cactus needles, flowers depending on the season/conditions, some contain water that can be drank in a pinch.
Born from the incense wreaking havoc on a cluster of cacti in a greenhouse, these pesky creatures have started to propagate in large numbers throughout the island of Copalli much to the chagrin of the local populace (both man and beast.) While they're relatively harmless and preferring to run, they will fight back if they feel threatened by firing a barrage of needles - rumored to be as many as one thousand. Some are even capable of launching clusters of pollen that can either leave their opponent confused, poisoned, or in some cases even both.
CAMOUFLAGE VINE ✶ x
Location: Between Tikal and Coatepec, in the jungle
Materials/Drops: healing herbs
Camouflage vines are a type of plant that blends almost seamlessly into the surrounding environment, hiding itself in plain sight before springing to action when approached by animal life of any kind. Once in action, the vines seem to take on a life of their own and start to twist and wind their way around said animal life, slowly enveloping their victim, squeezing harder and harder as the prey tries to move and struggle free. If not freed, the victim will be killed in one of two ways - they may be squeezed to death with the ribs constricted and each bone slowly breaking as the pressure increases, or they may be suffocated to death by being held in place and vines entering their nose and mouth until airways are blocked.
CARRION CROW ✶ x
Location: Inland, especially around Coba
Materials/Drops: Feathers, talons, beak
An abnormally large, mutated crow that feasts primarily on, as the name would suggest, carrion. It is not above attacking live prey either, however, and has been known to carry its victims off to its nest, mutilate it to prevent escape, and then pick pieces off little by little. A human-sized meal can keep one and its young fed for days, but the population is abnormally large, possibly due to flying in from outside the borders of Copalli.
CIPACTLI ✶ x
Location: All bodies of freshwater on the continent
Materials/Drops: Scales, bones, fangs
A vicious aquatic creature with a taste for live prey. They prefer somewhat deeper bodies of water such as rivers or lakes, but every now and again will appear in the waterways of Kiichpan as well. They are solitary fish and can often be territorial toward their own kind, so capturing and introducing more of them to an infested river is an effective strategy to thinning their numbers... assuming they don't just breed instead.
CORPSE FLOWER ✶ x
Location: Everywhere, but more often in the Coatepec region
Materials/Drops: Vines, skin, cuttings can blossom if planted
The Corpse Flower is relatively harmless if kept properly—they start life as a regular flower that, while very large and producing a stench, can be kept safely in the right environment. However, when exposed to the incense they begin to grow beyond control and will develop carnivorous tendencies. As they consume live prey, they mutate into a grotesque collection of rotting, partially-dissolved bodies and vines, eventually able to move around on their own. The longer they are left unchecked, the worse the smell of gas and corpses is.
DIGESTION PLANT ✶ x
Location: Between Tikal and Coatepec, in the jungle
Materials/Drops: useful animal parts - bones, teeth, etc.
Digestion plants are not well camouflaged at all and quite obvious by their large, heavy brightly-coloured flowers. In fact, the digestion plants are actually quite pretty, with large shiny bright green leaves, trailing vines, and those flowers. The flowers are almost impossible to ignore, actually, almost mesmerizing in their beauty and emitting a scent that reminds travelers of all the most pleasant things at home - they can smell different to anyone inhaling their scent, and might smell of freshly-baked bread, cookies, a mother's perfume, the scent of a lost loved one's hair, or anything else that's enticing to its prey. Once a victim is drawn in close enough, the flower will seem to leap forward and engulf the victim whole, paralyzing them with a mild poison and slowly digesting them bit by bit. Once the victim has been engulfed, they can be rescued by passers-by, but will suffer the loss of some of their clothing and acid burns on their bodies that are irritated by the incense.
FANG ✶ x
Location: All over Copalli, especially inland
Materials/Drops: Claws, fangs, skin/fur
A very common pack animal, now nearly all that remains of native wolves. They are typically seen in groups of three to seven and will chase down prey nigh relentlessly unless given a different target to pursue. However, they are well known for being not too bright and can easily be fended off by most anyone capable of defending themselves or evading. Scaling a tree and waiting them out works well.
FLAN ✶ x (comes in many colors, see here for details)
Location: All over the continent, especially in dark/dank places
Materials/Drops: Gelatinous leavings are a must-have for potionmaking, and can produce different effects depending on which color you gather
A common, disgusting nuisance on Copalli, flans are most often seen in caves, sewage systems, and other moist, dark places, which has led some to believe they may be some form of fungus or mold that has been warped by the incense just like every other lifeform on the continent. Depending on various environmental, chemical, and natural factors, flans may appear in many different colors and are oftentimes associated with magical elements—blue ones are often aquatic, red ones are often pyromancers, and such. They are soft after for their medicinal properties and are used in many potions and salves, not just in Coatepec but all over the continent. For that reason, in spite of how common they are, they're still quite sought-after. Of note: they are not edible in their base form, and ingestion or prolonged porous contact can cause various types of debilitating illnesses and conditions.
FLOROSO ✶ x
Location: Between Tikal and Kiichpan, but seen all over the continent
Materials/Drops: Skin/fur, claws, fangs, stamen on flowers good for potions
A common bear that has been taken over by an invasive, flowering plant. The flower on its head takes control of the animal's mind and faculties and, with no senses left to operate on, they are mostly seen as feral and very dangerous. Where there is one there are typically two or three more, but they do at times travel or hunt alone.
LEECH ✶ x
Location: Kiichpan
Materials/Drops: Secretions good for potions, skin, fangs
A semiaquatic, eyeless creature that mostly dwell in Kiichpan's waterways. They do have the limbs and the means to crawl out of the waterways should they find a good enough foothold, but are poor hunters with weak senses. If they do manage to get ahold of a victim, however, they will sink their fangs in and drain them of their blood until there isn't a single drop left. Victims are easily identified by the circular bitemarks.
MANDRAGORA ✶ x
Location: Coatepec
Materials/Drops: Spines useful for potions, can be squeezed for medicinal excretions, roots are nutritious and used for potions
A recently-popular sentient "house plant" in Coatepec, these creatures start out tiny and easy to care for, but will rapidly outgrow their containers and begin attacking pretty much anything and generally causing chaos the first chance they get. Their spines are able to paralyze even a full-grown man, but worse is their scream. Prolonged exposure (longer than a few seconds) will cause bleeding from the ears and possible deafness.
MANTIS ✶ x
Location: Dense jungle all over the continent
Materials/Drops: Wings, mandibles, scythes
Massive, human-sized insects that can move quickly in flight and on land. They are ruthless killers that will slice and dice their prey, bite their heads off, and suck out the innards before leaving the rest of the corpse behind.
MISTODON ✶ x
Location: Between Tikal and Coba
Materials/Drops: Carapace
Jarringly large invertebrates that resemble insects, they can curl up in a defensive ball that is difficult to penetrate and roll across the ground at quick speeds to attack. They rarely bother with such tactics, however, as they are senseless and rather stupid. Still, their fearsome strength and tendency to be seen in large numbers make them a creature natives prefer to avoid altogether.
MUSK BEAR ✶ x, x
Location: Central Copalli, primarily near caves
Materials/Drops: Claws, bones, teeth, meat. Pelts can be salvaged but carry a long-lasting odor that may or may not fade.
If it looks like a bear, walks like a bear, and sounds like a bear it's a safe bet to assume that it is in fact an ordinary bear. This animal has a thick, shaggy coat throughout the entire year, and a horrendous temperament to boot which means it's fairly aggressive much like its Floroso-cousins. Not only that but it's name is rather apt - in addition to its hulking size it carries a stench so potent that if anyone so much as touches the animal, it'll take about a week for the smell to completely go away.
TRICK SPARROW ✶ x
Location: Coba and the surrounding area
Materials/Drops: Wings are very valuable, often in possession of stolen goods
While not inherently dangerous most of the time, Trick Sparrows are scavengers that will try to steal anything not bolted down. They prefer shiny and colorful objects, and that sometimes extends to more concerning things such as eyeballs. Notorious for making off with communication medallions, they are a big headache to the people of Coba and most prefer to exterminate them on sight before large flocks can gather.
UNCOMMON MONSTERS
ANGLERFISH ✶ x
Location: The sea, but occasionally deeper fresh water as well
Materials/Drops: Scales, light orb is valuable
While mostly seadwelling, some have adapted to be able to survive in fresh water for short periods of time and have given quite a few people a fright. They are the bane of fishermen all across the continent, and have a nasty habit of leaping up out of the water when they are close to prey and latching onto them.
ANTLION ✶ x
Location: Close to rainforest ruins
Materials/Drops: Mandibles, venom highly potent and valuable
Quite a rare creature typically only seen one at a time outside of larger abandoned temples, they burrow deep under the soil and emerge suddenly when prey is overhead. They are able to fly short distances, but typically only use their wings for lifting prey up high off the ground and dropping it back down to stun or kill it—something that's easy for them to do, with the strength and size of two men.
CACALOTL ✶ x, x
Location: Inland, between Coba and Kiichpan primarily at night.
Materials/Drops: Feathers, talons, fangs, meat*
Rarely seen, this sub-species of Carrion Crow has several names. Some locals take to calling it Cacalotl - "crow" - in their native tongue, while some will simply point at it and say "Giant Crow" which, all things considered, is a pretty apt descriptor. They often take roost near the ruins between Kiichpan and Coba (especially after the incense has rolled through), picking off stray travelers or if they're feeling bold, may even hit carriages traveling in the dark. It hungers for any living thing it happens to see, and it captures prey using its large, fang-filled beak and equally large talons. Despite its wings, it only seems to be able to take flight for a short time before hitting the ground but that's all it needs in order to deliver a powerful, near-lethal kick with its legs.
The meat is edible in a sense that "everything is edible", but it's heavily discouraged after the local population discovered it's more or less toxic. You could eat it, but is it really worth the risk? Many hunters will sooner use it to bait other monsters.
CHTHONIC VOIDLURKERS ✶ Rylok, Souldrinker, Devourer
Location: Continental
Materials/Drops: None
Emerging from rifts in the earth opened up during the tremors in July, these disturbing, chthonic creatures crawl up from the depths of what seems to be tainted boils deep within the earth with a hunger for living energy. Each of these creatures are curiously unaffected by the mist and use the power of the void from which they came to misdirect and entrap their victims. Should they capture someone in their sludge-like pits of shadow, they will quickly descend en masse to tear them limb from limb and drain them of their mana, which they then exhale in the form of a shade taking the form of the person consumed. These shades are ethereal and can neither attack nor be attacked, but are used to further warp the minds of the living. The chthonic beasts are especially prevalent within the ruins of Tezcatli and Titlacauan, but appear all across the continent both inside the cities and outside of them. Most notably, they seem interested in converging upon Tikal, descending into the crater and targeting living people.
COCKATRICE ✶ x
Location: Marshlands
Materials/Drops: Feathers, beak, highly palatable meat that is very sought after
A particular delicacy on Copalli, it is favored as one of the few monsters people prefer to eat over domestic livestock. Its meat is very flavorful and tender, and as such it's been hunted nearly to the brink of extinction. They are quite dangerous, delivering powerful kicks with sharp talons and beating attackers with their massive wings. They are also capable of delivering a paralyzing gaze that will leave its victims stunned, mostly used in an effort to escape.
IXACATLAPACHOA ✶ x
Location: Continental, but especially in the jungles near Tikal
Materials/Drops: Sought-after pelt, used for clothing, armor, household wares and many other things
A horrid amalgamation of bird, insect, and jungle cat, its name comes from the native word meaning "to mix someone up or confuse them." While the name might refer to either its appearance or its tendency to mislead its prey with confusing calls and signals only to pounce, unseen, from the shadows, it oftentimes is referred to as simply "funky leopard." They are typically lone hunters and live solitary lives outside of mating season, but will occasionally shock unsuspecting travelers by attacking in massive packs. In addition to their clever employment of subterfuge, they are also able to stun and confuse prey with their odd facial appendages.
MINDFLAYER ✶ x
Location: Northern Island and occasionally the northern shores of the continent between Kiichpan and Tikal
Materials/Drops: They occasionally wield staves that can be imbued (or are already imbued) and useable; Salamanders would like to research the heads.
Magic-wielding humanoid sorcerers with octopi for heads that are highly hostile toward humans. In addition to their casting abilities, Mindflayers will often latch themselves onto their targets, pulling them up under the "mouth" of their many-tentacled head to suck the sense right out of them and steal their thoughts, abilities, and memories for themselves. Their victims will be left weakened and dumbstruck, unable to properly function without healing and recovery, and can at times be left permanently mentally damaged by the effect. Therefore, it's advisable to quickly incapacitate any Mindflayer attempting to latch onto another person as quickly as possible. They have not been recorded using human speech, but do seem to be intelligent enough to communicate, although there may be a language barrier.
MORBOL SEEDLING ✶ x
Location: The jungles below and surrounding the Tepexitl ruins.
Materials/Drops: Morbol seedling spines and vines are useful for both tools and alchemy. The seedling's poisonous secretions can be collected but are considered far less potent than that from a full grown Morbol or Malboro.
Born from morbol seeds scattered about the jungle when exposed to large amounts of elemental energy, morbol seedlings sprout in clusters of three to five. Highly aggressive, these little menaces cannot fly but their Bad Breath attacks are no less dangerous than those of an adult. Often preferring to inflict paralysis or sleep effects on potential prey, the fang-shaped thorns which line a seedling's maw serves to hold prey immobile during digestion. Considered nuisances that must be cut down before they grow too large!
MOUNTAIN WYVERN ✶ x
Location: Mountainous areas mostly outside of Coatepec
Materials/Drops: Skin good for leather, meat is considered a delicacy, scales and beaks are sought-after trade items
Very rarely seen except sometimes during windstorms, they make their homes high up in the mountains and are notoriously vicious, especially during breeding season in the winter. When young are hatching, mother wyverns will become more aggressive in their hunting patterns and can often be found plucking humans off the street and carrying them off. They are difficult to take down, but a high-value mark among hunters.
OCHU ✶ x
Location: Dense jungle all over the cotinent
Materials/Drops: Petals, vines, pollen and secretions good for potions
These bundles of twisted plantlife are very good at holding very still until prey comes near, then springing to life suddenly. In fact, they are well known to be sleepy and can sometimes be surprised by careful adventurers for an advantage. Their poison is difficult to treat, and are one of the many flora-based creatures on Copalli notorious for pumping their victims full of seedlings that quickly sprout and take over the host body.
PUTRID LEECH ✶ x
Location: Kiichpan waterways
Materials/Drops: Secretions may be useful, but often too toxic to handle
A much worse version of the common leech, these vile, poisonous living tentacles often intoxicate and kill their victims well before they can be drained of blood. Drinking water they've been in recently is also very dangerous, which is why water is carefully treated or boiled in Kiichpan.
QUETZAL ✶ x
Location: All over the continent, especially near Coba
Materials/Drops: Plumage very, very valuable
While very rarely dangerous to humans, these beautiful, colorful birds are highly sought after for their plumage, often used as decoration and adornments all over the continent. They're quite rare and while at times thought to be extinct, have a flourishing population deep in the jungles that don't seem to be very affected by the incense. When threatened, the entire flock will descend at once and tear their enemy to shreds with sharp beaks and talons.
SAHAGIN ✶ x
Location: Tenyo ruins, other aquatic areas
Materials/Drops: Fins, scales, eyes; Sahagin Chief drops a golden trident which can be used in battle
Semiaquatic creatures that seem to be a cross between a fish monster and a human. They are what remains of an ancient, seadwelling race which once had their own kingdom and some sentience, but are now nothing more than vicious, flesh-eating monsters. They fight as a large group, often defending the singular Chief, of which there is one per colony. Noted to be somewhat covetous of resources such as food, fresh water, and shelter much like humans, but they do not seem to know what to do with these things and are at times observed "worshiping" them instead. They have poor eyesight on land and during the day, but are much more deadly in the water and in the dark.
SPIRACORN ✶ x
Location: Roaming across less densely forested areas
Materials/Drops: Horn and hooves can be valuable
Quite possibly the most favored monster the continent has to offer, the Eagles of Coba are constantly in search of these creatures to use as mounts. They are extremely wild and extremely dangerous, especially if not separated from their herds, but once wrangled into submission they are by far the fastest mode of transportation available. Unfortunately, they are known for throwing their riders and then impaling them on their horns, then partially consuming them.
TANTARIAN ✶ x, x
Location: Coatepec
Materials/Drops: None
Very rarely, should the incense manage to infiltrate Coatepec, these unusual creatures will form in dark places and grow much like black mold until they grow big enough to move about on their own. They prefer to hide themselves in old books and will attack when the book is opened, clawing with their strange appendages and using the body of the book itself as a weapon. They prefer to hide rather than fight, and will constantly disappear from page to page, but upon defeat they relinquish the book and evaporate. Most often the book is damaged beyond repair afterward, causing the Salamanders considerable grief.
NON-HOSTILE CREATURES
DOMESTIC CAT/DOG ✶ x, x
Location: Cities, especially Coatepec and Kiichpan
Materials/Drops: Don't kill them :(
Domesticated, common housepets untainted by the mist. While there is some variety to coats and general appearance, most dogs are large, hairless and spotted, and the cats either hairless as well, or densely furred with a combination of stripes and spots. Cats are especially common in Coatepec for some reason.
GARUDA ✶ x
Location: Between Coba and Tikal
Materials/Drops: Gold, ores, jewels, also rare and valuable plumage if killed
Quite possibly a distant cousin of the parrot, these strange birds resemble the Quetzal birds but are able to talk, or at least mimic speech and other sounds. They are docile and will only attack if provoked, and while they can be bothersome when flapping around and repeating what they hear, some adventurers have noted being asked for certain items in exchange for riches. If they are in danger, they will respond with powerful magic and are known to cause massive earthquakes with their spells.
LIVESTOCK ✶ x
Location: Cities
Materials/Drops: Meat, milk, etc
The most populous being the alpaca, there are a few different types of domesticated livestock available such as cows and sheep, chickens, and hogs. They are very few and far between and well-protected from the incense (as best as can be done, at least), with breeding carefully managed by farmers. Most prefer not to slaughter and eat them until they are near their end of their lives unless absolutely necessary. Some cultures revere these animals beyond their uses and hold ceremonies and festivals to honor them.
MU ✶ x
Location: All over the continent
Materials/Drops: Skin/fur, ores, occasionally potions and other minor treasures
A beloved creature that seems to have been something like a squirrel or fox before being changed by the incense, these furry pests get away with their damage to property and crops on account of being so adorable. Treat them well if they approach you and they may be willing to give up one of their scavenged treasures. Attack, and suffer a swarm of many squeaking rodents. The choice is yours.
OPALINE UNICORN ✶ x
Location: Continental
Materials/Drops: None (unkillable)
Extremely rare—more an urban legend than a creature any can claim to have actually seen. Made from pure, glimmering gemstones, they are said to be able to do magic, grant wishes, heal the sick and wounded, bestow riches, and a host of other things. They seem to be unaffected by the incense, and are somehow able to stay relatively pure. They're also capable of human speech, albeit telepathically.
BOSS MONSTERS
ADAMANTOISE ✶ x
Location: Coba
Materials/Drops: Pieces of adamantite and other strong stone materials
The size of an entire mountain, this massive turtle seems to have been slumbering for a long time undetected until the earthquakes during the events in July roused it. While not inherently aggressive, its very existence poses a danger in that it causes tremors in the earth even just from breathing or shifting its massive head and limbs. The scale of such a creature make it a conundrum to defeat, but local leadership are less concerned with that, given its lack of propensity for violence, and are more interested in collecting materials from its back.
COATL ✶ x
Location: Kiichpan - Grand Temple
Materials/Drops: Scales and feathers, body transported to several different coteries for study (particularly Coatepec). Two daggers were fashioned from its fangs and presented to the character who slayed it, Lloyd Irving.
Emerged from the cursed fire relic when touched, completely demolishing the Grand Temple and a large amount of Kiichpan itself. See further details on the event log, To Ashes.
CUAUHTLI ✶ x
Location: ????
Materials/Drops: ????
Information pending.
CUETZPALIN ✶ x
Location: Northern Island
Materials/Drops: Bones, scales, teeth
Emerged from the cursed water relic when touched, where it was hastily incapacitated in order to prevent it from reaching the mainland. See further details on the event log, Washed Away.
FENRIR ✶ x
Location: Gaia's Peak
Materials/Drops: A summoning stone (limited use) to call Fenrir to the user's side; claws can be brought to Migel for a pair of dragonscale claw gauntlets.
Guardian of one of the oldest peaks on Copalli, this Earth- and Wind-elemental lupine creature announces itself with an unearthly howl on red moon nights. While typically benevolent, and also very rarely seen besides, July's earthquakes and the change in the earth and weather seem to have agitated it greatly, causing it to unleash its fury from a distance, seemingly at random. Its aggression requires it to be disposed of for everyone's safety, but its essence upon defeat can be contained in a glowing stone that will allow it to be called upon by the holder.
GOLEM ✶ x
Location: ????
Materials/Drops: ????
Information pending.
IXTLI ✶ x
Location: Roaming; seen most often traveling in an almost triangular route between Kiichpan, Coba, and Tikal.
Materials/Drops: If kept intact, Salamanders are VERY interested in studying its eye and will pay handsomely; other plantlike parts and its weapon also highly valued.
Semi-sentient, this creature is about the size of an average human being but flies about on wings like an insect (or perhaps even a fairy). It may attempt to confuse, mislead, or even bargain with anyone who approaches it in an effort to avoid fighting, but its words are deeply distorted and its language is difficult to understand, even with the medallions. It mostly prefers to flee, but if cornered and unable to "talk" its way out of a fight, it will strike fiercely and aggressively with its spear. It also casts elemental magic (mid-tier) and will attempt to hypnotize anyone who stares into its eye, putting them to sleep.
MALBORO ✶ x
Location: Tepexitl ruins
Materials/Drops: Poisonous secretions can be bottled and used in compounds—HIGHLY sought-after, but unbelievably dangerous to handle; tentacles also useful and valuable
Having lain dormant outside the Tepexitl ruins for quite a long time, this floating, enormous monstrosity poses a massive threat to Coba due to its infamous Bad Breath. It rarely awakens unless something happens to fly or climb past the structure at the top of the mountain's face, but when it does, it won't hesitate to spit toxic fluids, strike with massive, stinging tentacles, and worst of all, exhale its debilitating fumes with relentless force. Because it floats in the air, it's a difficult target to reach without ranged weaponry or flight, and so most have preferred to leave it be for fear of subjecting the city to its wrath.
OCELOTL ✶ x
Location: Titlacuan
Materials/Drops: Pelt, fangs, heart
Guardian of the earth relic, it is the twin brother of Tezcatlipoca. Unlike his brother, Ocelotl lacked an obsidian mirror in its chest, although that may be because it was already torn free in the past and served instead as one of the cursed relics. See more on the event log, Pillars of Salt.
PHOENIX ✶ x
Location: Tepeticpac ruins
Materials/Drops: Several restorative phoenix pinions; plumage and other remains can be fashioned into a set of armor highly resistant to fire; a summoning stone enabling the holder to call Phoenix to their side (limited use).
A being nearly as ancient as the gods themselves, the firebird of legend has protected the continent with its sacred flames, struggling against the incense in its effort to bring life back to the land. Having finally succumbed to the mist after a century, it will no longer flee when approached but attack with relentless ferocity. While it cannot be properly killed, it will seem dead upon defeat, its soul coalesced into a summoning stone. However, a pile of ash left behind will soon give birth to a baby phoenix, starting the cycle all over again.
RAFFLESIA ✶ x
Location: Xochiyotl ruins
Materials/Drops: Secretions and pollen for potions, vines, petals, fangs, cuttings will blossom if planted ✶ (1) Elixir as prize for defeating
An enormous passiflora twisted to startling proportions because of the incense. It is highly toxic, expelling a poisonous, pollen-filled breath from its "mouth" able to lay low the most hardy of adventurers and filling their lungs with seedlings that sprout rapidly and kill from the inside. Its many thorn-covered, vines and appendages are strong enough to capture and fling about a grown person, and its roots may also lift up from the ground to stun its targets. It is susceptible to fire.
RALVURAHVA ✶ x
Location: Travels across the continent, mostly following major roadways and lingering near cities.
Materials/Drops: Snakeskin for armor, fangs and venom highly prized
An enormous venomous snake with a taste for human flesh. It will swallow smaller creatures, including small-sized humans, in one bite if given the chance, where the combination of its flexing muscles and highly toxic insides will crush and break down the prey into digestible bits. Watch out for its "sigh," which emits a poisonous sort of mist not wholly unlike the incense itself... only that scent is much, much less aromatic.
TEZCATLIPOCA ✶ x
Location: Tezcatli ruins
Materials/Drops: Obsidian mirror
Final boss of the Smoking Mirror plot. See details in Phase Three.
