COTERIE INTERACTIONS (IC) - CHAPTER I

COTERIE INTERACTIONS
✶ ✶ ✶
The leader of each coterie, all colloquially known by the same name as their group—Jaguar, Eagle, Viper, and Salamander—will play a major role in the story, oftentimes appearing in events and even, during major plots, accompanying the player characters on their quests. While having constant access to them in threads would be difficult to keep track of and may lead to unfair advantages for some characters, and they will never directly comment to any network or log posts made in

Note that it is fine to handwave minor interactions with the NPCs, such as in the case of exposition or receiving their quest orders, and you do not need to thread that out here nor ask permission from the mods. Relationships beyond passing familiarity as leader/subordinate cannot be handwaved however—in general, characters will not "build CR" with their leader to the degree they might with other characters in the game. They will still get to know them well over the course of the story, though.
Please also note that the NPCs are played by the mod team and are subject to the same tagging speed or question-answering expectations. We will respond as soon as we can!

[ All chipper and cheerful, also possibly tinged with irony. ]
I did, yes. Come along, come along...
[ Just carrying her piggyback to the table where he's already laid out two glasses and a bottle of white wine. Not what you'd call fun liquor for kids, but it gets the job done. He pours Jinx a glass and just hands it up to her, over his shoulder, without bothering to set her down. ]
There you are.

(and she feels absolutely weak, however thankful to have had someone bring her to silco. a miracle to have been found once again, but now, the aim is to prove that she isn't feeble in any means.
it starts by outdrinking bossman. with her strength, she surely could hang forever, so only an arm is enough to support her as she empties the glass almost immediately after it touches her lips.)
Oh! Wine?! Bossman, where's the tequila?!

[ A giant snake isn't quite a dragon or anything else all that impressive, but he'll make exceptions when it's an ancient god that breathes fire. Eagle picks up his own glass and takes a long sip, savoring it at least somewhat, and chuckles. ]
Down at the bar, being drained to exhaustion by all the excess patrons Isabela is undoubtedly entertaining, I imagine. If we run out of liquor, this really will be a crisis. Don't know how I'll survive!

If you're good, next time, I'll let you fire Fishbones, if I'm in a good mood, too.
(she taps her glass, unspoken request for it to be filled.)
We're thinking of opening a bar-slash-nightclub. Do you have those here? You don't, right?

[ Eagle helps by giving her a little heft up, but generally he seems content and unbothered to be climbed like a tree and treated with equal irreverence. He takes the glass to refill it, then hands it back. ]
Everywhere on Copalli has taverns, but aside from Viento, there isn't anyplace quite so dedicated to drinking and having a good time. You said... a nightclub? I'm not familiar with the term.

(now she just has to teach the locals how to play more... electronic-like music, or some metal. maybe she should build a guitar and find the best musician and let them at it.)
Speaking of things that you don't have... I have plans, Florian. For me to get the things I want, this place needs a super update. I'm just... Still trying to organize that.

A never-ending party... sounds like my kind of place. And hatching plans to get precisely what you want is exactly the sort of initiative I like to see in my people. It's true, Coba—and all of Copalli, really—is barely making due. If this place is as good as home to you all now, it makes sense that the comforts you're used to should be here as well.

(all her plans are in her bag, waiting for her to pick them up and make them a reality. she gently scratches the man's scalp with her nails, like a friendly caress (since his hair is damn pretty.)
Ah, I'll be the bartender. Guess you and I will be the best of friends, dude!

[ Contentedly pouring himself another glass, but he doesn't start in on it right away. ]
Yes, of course! Show me.

(which should be clear. actually calling him by his name, the physical affection, all the good stuff.
she jumps out of his back, reaching for her notebook to open it on their table.)
So, first of everything, energy. Electricity. We can generate it from the rivers, but there's the incense problem. I'm trying to work around that.
(to exemplify, she picks fishbones from her back, charging just enough so he sees the brightness and functioning of the gemstone within, dropping it back to her hip without firing.)
no subject
I'm afraid you've lost me already. Lightning isn't my element of expertise. The incense typically gathers in higher density around the water in the lowlands, though, so it certainly is a pickle.

I would, but with the influx of refugees, I'm not sure when next I'll have the time for surveying. Oh, but I categorically won't tolerate being cooped up inside all day, so heading out to check the lakes and rivers sounds like as good an excuse as any for some fresh air.

I'll let you know, it might take a while for that to get out of the paper anyway. We're working on a forge, so I can feed Pow-Pow here. Oh, which reminds me, weren't we going to explode some things?
no subject
[ A somewhat sardonic smile as he drains his glass again. ]
To that end, what say we find a particularly nasty monster to lay waste to?

Show the way.
