LOCATIONS

The leader of each coterie, all colloquially known by the same name as their group—Jaguar, Eagle, Viper, and Salamander—will play a major role in the story, oftentimes appearing in events and even, during major plots, accompanying the player characters on their quests. While having constant access to them in threads would be difficult to keep track of and may lead to unfair advantages for some characters, and they will never directly comment to any network or log posts made in incensed or incenselogs, we do want to offer the opportunity for characters to interact with them. Therefore, with the exception of the aforementioned event posts where the NPCs might appear, all direct interactions with the coterie leaders can be done here. Simply comment below with the leader you'd like to interact with and whether it is in person or via medallion/journal in the subject line.

Note that it is fine to handwave minor interactions with the NPCs, such as in the case of exposition or receiving their quest orders, and you do not need to thread that out here nor ask permission from the mods. Relationships beyond passing familiarity as leader/subordinate cannot be handwaved however—in general, characters will not "build CR" with their leader to the degree they might with other characters in the game. They will still get to know them well over the course of the story, though.

Please also note that the NPCs are played by the mod team and are subject to the same tagging speed or question-answering expectations. We will respond as soon as we can!

[ It's some small relief that Viper does resist that temptation. Bruno knows his gift well but it's caused enough grief on its own, he's not sure what he would do if it only added to Kiichpan's suffering instead of helping right now. When she decides against it, that tenseness in his shoulders bleeds away, however small a motion that might be. ]

Alright. But. If you ever change your mind, you just gotta let me know. I'll try to help however I can.

[ It's not an easy choice to make. She's not even feeling great about it, whether it's "morally correct" or not, evidenced by how she drags a (still clawed and kind of scaly) hand down her face. But she doesn't change her mind. Not yet, anyway. ]

Thanks for that. In the meantime, I... eh, it's up to you what you do with your powers, but I'd be—cautious who else you tell about it, lad. The other leaders in particular. We're all supposed to be a big ol' happy teamworking family 'n all, but...

Their No Good Very Bad Day hasn't come yet, and if they had it their way, with the right kinda tools, [ that means you ] it might not ever. So.

[ It's wild that Viper actually has precedent to call him, Mr. Fifty-year Old with Grey Hairs, a lad. ]

Mm, yeah, well, family doesn't really ever quite work out perfectly that way. [ Speaking from experience, ma'am. ] I'm really kinda hoping I never have to tell anyone else at all, to be completely honest, but I rarely have that kind of luck? I will, though. Try to be careful.

[ And that's that, he supposes. There's certainly an awkward moment where he stands there without anything else to say, uncertain, but he does inevitably come to the conclusion that he should probably add, ]
